Whether you kayak alone or with a partner depends on various things, such as how skilled you are, what you want to do, and how well you get along with your group.
Solo vs. Tandem - Single kayaks are made for one person, giving you more control and freedom on the water. Double kayaks (tandem) have room for two people, letting you cooperate and enjoy the adventure together.
● Skill Level - Single kayaks are good for skilled kayakers who like a challenge. Double kayaks are better for new or less advanced paddlers.
Comfort and Space - Single kayaks have plenty of room for one person, giving you more flexibility on the water. Double kayaks usually have less space and need more teamwork between people to make sure they are comfortable and stable.
● Social Experience - Double kayaks provide opportunities for shared experiences and social interaction.
All Kayaking rentals come with life jackets/water vests.
Whether you book a kayak in a Double or a Single, you will have a special time on the water.

Tubing - Single and Double Tubes for Purchase

Garden Valley Ridgetop Rentals sells tubes, but we don't rent them.
We have single and double tubes available.
● Single Tube - ideal for solo riders who prefer more maneuverability and control over their experience.
● Double Tube - Great for couples, friends, or parent-child pairs who want to enjoy the experience together.

What Are the Advantages of Renting a Kayak vs. Buying a River Tube

Tubing and kayaking are both popular recreational water activities. When deciding between the two, you may ask yourself:
● How fast do you want to travel down the river?● How much control would you like to maintain?● Are you looking for sport or relaxation?

    • Skill Level & Effort Involved

    • There is a slight learning curve that varies depending on the type of water you plan on kayaking in. A stronger current will require stronger effort to maintain direction.

    • It takes almost zero effort to float around on a tube. These are great for our local “lazy river”.

    • Kayaks offer a great deal of control, whether you want to race down the river or float gently to your destination.

    • Tubes have no obvious methods for steering and will float along with the current.
